RAAK

If you’re looking for a midcentury globe light that is sure to add a touch of modernism to any room, consider a RAAK mid century globe light. This stylish light was designed by Dutch artist and glassmaker Willem van Oyen. In the Netherlands, many artists became designers, so the fusion of art and industry was fairly common. But Willem van Oyen’s contributions were anything but ordinary. His handcrafted Chartres Wall Lights, for example, were advertised by Raak as “smeltschilderijen,” or’smelting paintings’, which were inspired by the Chartres Cathedral.

Raak was a popular company in the 1950s and 1960s, and its products were admired worldwide. The company’s collaborations with international designers and architects such as E. J. Jelles, Sergio Asti, Bertrand Balas, and Nanny Still led to many of the most popular RAAK lamps. The RAAK Globe 2000 floor lamp was one of the most popular products for many years, and was also available as a pendant or wall lamp. This versatile light has since become a vintage classic.

Doria Leuchten

A Doria Leuchten mid century globe lamp is a classic example of mid-century modern lighting. This handcrafted pendant was created by Doria Leuchten of Gnarrenburg, Germany, and has a classic, neoclassical design. The light fixture is composed of a chrome arm connected by wire sleeves, and five molded glass globes dangle from it. The light is in excellent condition, and is marked “Doria.”

This German designer created this gorgeous chandelier in the mid 1960s. Made of metal and Murano glass, the pendant has a vintage style. It is in excellent condition, though one glass tube has a small plastic plate on the back, which isn’t visible when hanging. This piece can use one e27 fitting size lightbulb.
