Special courses

The Fashion and Design Center will offer also a wide variety of special courses, long and short, in order to allow the students to choose the course that best suits to their needs.
Students are free to arrange their timetable for their courses depending on their personal requirements, such as: woman's wear, man's wear, children's wear, lingerie, wedding dress, beach wear, accessories, shoes, jewelry, computer pattern- making and pattern grading.
Courses are divided into two levels:
Normal: with no previous training or experience
Short: attended only by those who already have basic knowledge in the Fashion field and who want to update

 

 

DESIGNER

 

Jewelry Design


As being aware of the growing importance of jewelry designer at the present time, the FDC has created this course exclusively to escort to the latest requirements in the fashion world.
The jewelry course donates the students with the right devices to learn the most significant drawing techniques of jewels using pantone, pastels, pencils, eco lines, technical draw and orthogonal projection.
In addition to the above mentioned the student will get acquainted to a profound study on costume jewelry, jewelry symbolism, some technical and commercial knowledge on the different kinds of stones and metals, for example, precious and semi-precious stones

Men's wear occupies a large position of the international market of fashion, accordingly it is important to flourish and develop our knowledge.
The men's wear course is supported by specialized books and selected professional teachers whom will teach the students the basis of anatomy and fast sketching which will illustrate the student's knowledge on the physiological implication behind the fashion of men and around the history of fashion generally until he/she will be capable of creating his own collection.

When it comes to accessories we have to mention the importance of accessories in emphasizing a design.
This course is dedicated for the people who are concerned with receiving a complete background in this specialized area. 80% of the lessons are practical but beside this, the students will also attend theoretical classes in order to aid them in the strategies of selling for a successful creation.

Preparing professionals bathing costumes and seaside line designers is the main aim of this course.
The student here should have a background on rendering colors and on female anatomy to be able to create his/her private portfolio.

PATTERN MAKING


CAD System Course



The main aim of this course is to teach the student how to use the computer for Pattern Making.
As the course is starting from the basis, it is not required from the student to have a previous knowledge of the computer.
One of the course's aim is to prepare the student to the working reality that’s why the teacher schedules exercises taken from realized work in fashion industries.
During the 50 hours course, the student will study the modification procedures and check of the patterns and all the basic themes of the software, starting from the introduction of the model through digitalization to the final pattern lay out.

Theatre Costume Course




This course allows the student to realize theatre costumes from the easiest to the most difficult.
The teaching method starts from the basic of Pattern with different darts manipulation, after analyzing carefully the measurement chart and ease allowance.
Then the student will immediately start the building of patterns, costumes, the desired century which can then be made or samples or as garments.
Moreover, the students will go deeply on the textile analyzes together with fibers and yarns.
At the end of this program the students will be able to start his/her activity as theatre costume tailor after having a complete preparation.

Pattern Grading






This course introduces the student to knowledge of mass production of the industrial method.
The industrial method doesn't create patterns on personal sizes but according to the physical conformation of target of end-consumers which they refer to.
The sizes table is calculated on anthropometrical sizes taken from the target of consumer it refers to.
The observer will be given a complete preparation to allow them to realize all kinds of garments.
